Preparing your Application
The purpose of submitting an application for any position is to demonstrate your ability to meet the essential criteria of the job.
The position description will describe the purpose of the role and the skills required. It will list the essential and desirable criteria needed to perform the role effectively. Essential criteria are those qualities that you must possess to perform the jobs, whereas Desirable criteria are those qualities that would assist you in the job. You should, therefore, have a clear idea of what the role entails and whether you have the appropriate experience and qualifications to succeed.
Your application should consist of three (3) copies of the following documentation:
- A covering letter responding to the essential and desirable criteria contained in the position description. What you write and how you answer the selection criteria will determine whether or not you will be interviewed.
- A resume including but not limited to Professional qualifications; employment history and contact details.
- A completed copy of the Application Details form including the names and contact details of 3 referees.
Application Process
Assessment of Applicants - A selection panel will assess all applications against the selection criteria and will decide on who will be interviewed. Successful applicants will be notified of progression to an interview and will be advised by phone of the date time and location of the interview. You will also be advised at this stage if you are required to provide any documentation or evidence of your work. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified once the interview process is completed and a decision has been made.
Interviews - Shortlisted applicants selected for an interview will be required to present with a full resume/CV including verified copies of professional qualifications, statements of attainment and copies of any references. An interview kit will be forwarded to selected applicants. The Interview Panel may consist of CEO/Deputy CEO and at least two other members relevant to the position.
Reference Checks - As part of the recruitment process, reference checks will be carried out for preferred candidates. Referees will be asked questions that are relevant to the Selection Criteria and will confirm the information provided in your application and at interview.
Working With Children Checks - Positions that have been identified as child-related will be required to undergo a Working With Children Check.
Selection - The final decision will be made by careful evaluation of your application, interview and reference checks. The successful applicant will then be offered the position and a start date will be arranged.
